It is important to be as clear and honest as possible on the different aspects of the trip you want to go on.

Consider the following:

1. How much money can you comfortably afford to spend?

2. How long can you be away from home?

3. Will you settle only for a truly huge trophy, or will a good representative of the species and a fine trip satisfy your needs?

4. How are your shooting skills and general physical condition?

5. What style of camp do you prefer- (tent, cabin, lodge, etc.)?

6. What mode of transportation are you comfortable with - (airplane, vehicle, boat, horse, backpacking, etc.)?

7. Do you prefer combination or single species hunting/fishing trips?

These are a few of the main considerations that need to be addressed when planning your trip. It is important to begin the planning process as soon as possible; two years ahead of time is not too early. This allows plenty of time to book your trip and work out the details. Each trip requires a different equipment checklist depending on where you go, when you go, and what type of camp you utilize. Being prepared is the main ingredient in the recipe for a satisfying and successful trip.
